Can't have a nursery without a crib...

Danny's crib/changing table combo.

Dresser

Here's Danny's dresser, thanks to Aunt Chris and Grandma and Grandpa B. We also moved the chair from AJ's room.

Display shelf

A little shelf we found at Lowe's, filled with trinkets we found (cheap!) at Target.

Danny's Room

Long time, no updates. Sorry about that! We've recently remodeled one of the bedrooms for Danny. Mike put in an overhead light with a remote-controlled dimmer.

No updates for a while!

Well, AJ is here! You can see pictures here. It's unlikely that we'll be doing much to the house in the near future, but we'll try to keep this updated, if we can ever get some sleep again. Wish us luck!

The interior of the crib. We thought this set was adorable. Thoughts, comments? As always, send 'em our way. We love you guys. Hope to see you soon! Posted by Picasa

There is a "sports wall" using some stickers we found. Posted by Picasa

We liked the "sleepy time corner" with the soft plush stars. Posted by Picasa

No pictures in the frame yet, but I'm sure we'll have tons as soon as AJ is born. Posted by Picasa

The nursery is done! Sorry it's been so long since we updated the blog, but we've been quite busy getting ready for AJ's arrival. The theme, if there is one, ended up being frogs and things like that. Posted by Picasa

And a new light fixture to complete the room. That would be nice... We still have to paint the doors, replace the baseboards, and decide on a floor mat/non-slip surface for winter. More to come, stay tuned! And thanks for stopping by!

And Mike just played with Bella.

Tracy was pleased. Especially for being 6 months pregnant, she did a ton of work!

Done! Working with the tile was pretty easy, we were pleased to discover.

Putting down the floor. We bought sticky tiles because we really liked the pattern.

Tracy did all the prep, priming and painting. It came out great!

We had to put a layer of 1/4 inch plywood down to cover up the broken concrete that was never going to completely come off the subfloor.

First thing we did was rip up that tile floor. We would like to thank the previous owner for cementing the ceramic tile directly to the subfloor, and not, as the rest of the world does, using backerboard.

Our latest project was the front hall. We've been wanting to update it ever since we moved in. You can see why.

Just checking in

Hello everyone!

Just a quick update to let you know that Tracy's pregnancy is still going great. Everything is progressing normally, and we're counting the days until we get to finally meet AJ. Speaking of AJ, you should stop by and check out his blog.

We're hoping everyone has a happy and safe labor day weekend. We love you all, and hope to see you soon!

Oh Baby!

Hi everyone! We just got back from our second sonogram, and we're pleased to announce that we're going to be the proud parents of a baby BOY! That's right, there was definitely a stem on the apple. :)

As an added bouns, here's a little peek (warning, this will take an incredibly long time over slow connections).  Click it to play.

Enjoy!

Hope to see you all soon!

A clear shot of the hemispheres of the brain.

Our baby is a TV star!

Tracy's starting to show! I, for one, think she looks great!

We chose bright colors and decided to squiggle them on the wall to make it interesting. We're real happy with how the room has turned out (so far). Come up and see it for yourself!

The area rug we found. This was actually the first thing for the room we bought (even before we chose our colors). We liked the geometric shapes and the colors.

Our baby's first bed. We bought this at USA Baby in Buffalo and Mom and Dad put it together.

And.....we're done (well, except for baseboards, molding, rugs, furniture, decorations...).

Cutting in around the doorframe was fun. Thank goodness one of us is an engineer!

Trust me. I'm not as happy as I look. It was really hot! The good news is that the floor went down relatively easy.

Putting in the laminate floor. Tracy is measuring the cuts around the funky wall formations we had to negotiate.

Our paint job. Mike did it because we wanted to keep Mommy away from the stinky fumes. It would have been better if the professional (Tracy) had painted it.

Just a quick update

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know that everything is going very well with the pregnancy. Tracy had another sonogram and this time toes were discernable. Very cool. Our kid has toes. The next appointment is in a couple weeks, and we may find out the gender then.

Since this blog is supposed to be about our house, the only thing really going on there is the roof we need to get done. About $5000 for an overlay (damn split-level construction...) is money that we would rather not pay, but se la vie. We'll also be replacing the garage doors soon (another $1000). Next project is the nursery, which I'm sure we'll photograph like there's no tomorrow, and post here. The theme is airplanes (Tracy won, I wanted fire trucks).

Anyway, take care. Feel free to leave a comment or drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you!
